Stuart Warner
Stuart is a chartered accountant, author, consultant, non-executive director and
international speaker, with over 30 years of experience in finance.
He delivers finance based training programmes around the world to both
finance and non-finance professionals.
Finance
Stuart helps businesses improve productivity and profitability through innovative finance training that is both engaging and practical. Blending education with entertainment, he uses experiential learning and business simulations to make complex financial concepts accessible, memorable and directly applicable in the workplace.
Stuart has worked with a rich diversity of clients from SME’s to large multinationals, including manufacturers, retailers, service businesses, law firms, accountancy firms, financial services companies, non-profits and public sector organisations.
Technology
Stuart is a technology enthusiast and in particular aims to help others realise Excel’s full potential. He has delivered spreadsheet training since the early 1990’s. He runs courses from beginner to advanced level for a variety of clients including bankers, fund managers, hedge funds, venture capitalists and sovereign wealth funds on:
• excel efficiency,
• spreadsheet skills for finance
• best practice techniques
• financial modelling from introduction to advanced level.
Training
Over his career, Stuart has taught tens of thousands of people including:
• non-finance profeessionals, from graduates to board directors, to help them understand the world of finance;
• qualified accountants, to keep them up to date and meet their CPD qualifications;
• trainee accountants to pass their professional exams, for six different professional accounting qualifications.
Stuart has worked with many of the world’s leading training organisations and professional development providers, including BPP, Kaplan, First Intuition, Capital City Training and Fitch as well as Institutes such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, RICS and the IoD.
Stuart offers traditional training, facilitated workshops, simulations, e-learning as well as individual executive and small team finance coaching.

Author
Stuart has designed numerous finance training courses, both face-to-face and using e-learning technology. He has authored exams, audio guides, podcasts, training videos.
He is the author of the following publications:

Accountant
After completing his first degree in Management Sciences at UMIST, Stuart trained as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Over a five year period, he was lucky to gain experience working with a wide range of clients – from sole traders to large multinationals in financial services, manufacturing, publishing, health and education sectors.
Board roles
• Member of a School Governing Board and Chair of the Finance Committee (2016 to date).
• Advisory board of ‘the Boardroom’ an exclusive club for female executives who are on the path to corporate boards (2021 to 2024).
• Board Member and Chair of the Strategy and Finance Committee at BASIC, an influential international think tank (2011 to 2022).
• Member of the Membership Services Board at AAT, a leading professional qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff with 125,000 members worldwide (2009 to 2014).
Other interests
Stuart is a certified NLP practitioner under a programme approved by John Grinder, the co-developer of NLP. He maintains a keen interest in behavioural economics, lateral thinking, memory and learning techniques.
