Darren Leiser

Darren has over twenty years of experience in the accounting profession and focuses on delivering courses on auditing and accounts, including UK GAAP and IFRS. In particular Darren has expertise in many specialist areas such as pension schemes, charities and solicitor audits. He is one of the most experienced lecturers on pension audits in the UK.

Darren qualified in one of the smaller chartered accountancy firms and gained considerable practical experience in the audit of many different types of businesses.

Darren subsequently specialised in audit with Grant Thornton LLP for several years and then became a senior technical manager with Macintyre Hudson LLP.

Many of Darren’s roles have included a substantial amount of audit file compliance and quality reviews, either internally to ensure quality standards are maintained or as a result of a QAD visit.

With his wealth of practical knowledge from actually performing the fieldwork in the past, Darren is able to bring a practical dimension to his courses and interpretation of regulations such as IFAC’s International standards of quality control.
